Jon Davis, Group Comms Service Manager, sat down with Rhys to talk about his career journey, daily challenges, and aspirations for the future. Their conversation highlighted Rhys’s technical expertise, dedication to customer service, and passion for continuous improvement.

Meet Rhys Hunter

Rhys began his journey with Flotek through previous experience at Gower Business Systems, our very first acquisition and the birthplace of Flotek. Starting out in IT and communications, he quickly became known for his expertise in phone systems and now plays a key role in ensuring our customers’ networks and communications run smoothly.

A Day in the Life

For Rhys, no two days are the same. His mornings start with reviewing critical support tickets. From large-scale network outages to urgent customer updates to ensuring issues are resolved or escalated quickly.

Once the big problems are under control, Rhys turns his attention to routine tickets, from configuring hotel TV displays to troubleshooting network devices. He also collaborates across departments, offering his technical know-how wherever it’s needed.

“Every day brings new challenges,” Rhys explains. “It could be phones, switches, or network faults, but what matters most is keeping customers informed and supported at every step.”

Rhys credits his qualifications for giving him a strong foundation in IT and communications. Combined with hands-on experience, he’s built an in-depth understanding of network infrastructure and how to resolve complex issues under pressure.

After two years at Flotek, Rhys describes the company as “ever-evolving” with constant opportunities to grow, new technologies to explore, and exciting challenges to solve. Looking to the future, he’s eager to develop his leadership skills and eventually step into a team leader role, helping to drive customer excellence and mentor colleagues.
