Stay on Top of Meetings with Microsoft Teams Meet App
The Meet app in Microsoft Teams centralises everything you need for your meetings. It's a single place to prepare for upcoming meetings, catch up on ones you've missed, and access meeting content without searching through chats and channels.
What Is the Meet App?
The Meet app is a built-in feature in the new Microsoft Teams. It gives you a unified view of your meetings, bringing together:
- Upcoming meetings – See what’s next on your calendar with key details at a glance.
- Recent meetings – Quickly access meetings you’ve attended, including recordings, transcripts, and shared files.
- Meeting content – Find chats, shared documents, notes, and recordings in one place.
How to Find It
In the new Microsoft Teams, look for the Meet icon in the left-hand navigation bar. If it's not visible, you may need to enable it through your Teams settings or ask your IT admin to make it available.
Key Features
1. Meeting Preparation
Before a meeting, the Meet app shows you the agenda (if one has been set), the list of attendees, and any shared files or documents. This makes it easy to review materials and come prepared without digging through emails or chats.
2. Catch Up on Past Meetings
Missed a meeting? The Meet app gives you quick access to recordings, transcripts, and collaborative notes from meetings you were invited to. No more asking colleagues for a summary – it’s all there.
3. Collaborative Notes
Meeting notes created using the Collaborative Notes feature (powered by Microsoft Loop) are accessible directly from the Meet app. These notes sync in real time, so everyone has access to the latest version – before, during, and after the meeting.
4. One-Click Join
Join upcoming meetings directly from the Meet app with a single click. No need to search your calendar or find the meeting invite.
Tips for Getting the Most from Meet
- Set agendas early: Adding an agenda to your meeting invite means attendees can see it in the Meet app before the meeting starts.
- Use Collaborative Notes: Assign action items during the meeting and they’ll sync to Microsoft To Do and Planner automatically.
- Review recordings: If you can’t attend, check the Meet app afterwards for the recording and transcript.
Availability
The Meet app is available in the new Microsoft Teams on desktop (Windows and Mac) and web. Some features, like Collaborative Notes, may require a Teams Premium licence for advanced functionality.
