Openreach has just added 137 more exchange areas to its “Stop Sell” list, impacting an additional 854,000 landlines across the UK. That means by mid-2026, traditional copper-based services—including landlines, fax lines, alarm systems, and some broadband types will no longer be available.
The nationwide PSTN & ISDN switch-off is officially set for January 31, 2027, as the UK transitions to Digital Voice and VoIP services.
