Active Protect: Same Service, Smarter Delivery
We’re improving the way we deliver Active Protect.
As an Active Protect partner, you’ll be familiar with the small compliance app sitting in your task tray. It pops up to flag issues and alerts our helpdesk when a device falls out of Cyber Essentials compliance. Most of the time you wouldn’t have even noticed. We’d spotted the issue and fixed it in the background before it caused you any disruption.
That app is going away.
We’re moving the same compliance monitoring directly into Datto RMM, the Remote Monitoring and Management platform we already use to look after your devices. You’ll recognise it as the purple Flotek icon already sitting in your tray. Same checks, same protection, just built into the tools our team uses every day.
What this means behind the scenes
Our proactive team now has a real-time dashboard covering every partner’s estate, with the ability to drill straight down to device level. When a device drifts out of compliance, we see it immediately, investigate it, and put it right. You carry on with your day.
Less noise on your devices. More visibility for us. That’s exactly the trade we want.
A new addition: Advanced Software Management
While we’re improving how Active Protect runs, we’re also expanding what it covers.
We’ve added Advanced Software Management (ASM) to the package. It automatically patches more than 397 additional third-party applications, the kind that usually slip through the cracks because nobody opens them often enough to trigger an update. Think PDF tools, screen-sharing software and niche utilities. The quiet apps where vulnerabilities tend to hide.
ASM closes those gaps silently, in the background. No pop-ups. No prompts. No admin overhead at your end.

Policy Manager and Embedded Training
If you used the policy manager or the embedded training inside the Active Protect app, both are now fully available through the Flotek Partner Portal, with more capability than the in-app versions offered. Reach out to your Account Manager for a full demo and to get you set up.
What you need to do
Nothing on the core change. We’re handling everything in the background. You may notice your devices updating a little more often than before, simply because we’re now patching a wider range of apps. Beyond that, your day-to-day experience won’t change.
