Flotek Launches Advanced Software Management

But buried inside one of your everyday apps – maybe a PDF tool you rarely open, or a screen-sharing program you installed years ago – sits a vulnerability. It's been there for weeks. You just haven't opened the app, so you never knew you needed to update it.

This kind of hidden gap is exactly how the 3CX compromise in March 2023 spread so quickly. The software wasn't updated in time. Thousands of businesses were quietly exposed.

That's why, from 1 January, we're rolling out Advanced Software Management (ASM) to all Flo360+ partners. It's a major upgrade to our Active Protect package, designed to catch the missing pieces in your software security.

Why ASM matters

We already use a Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) service to fix operating systems and well-known third-party apps automatically. But audits – like those for Cyber Essentials Plus – regularly reveal vulnerabilities in lesser-used or rarely-updated software. This often happens because updates depend on a user opening the app, so if no one clicks 'Update' then nothing happens.

What ASM does

ASM automatically patches an additional 397+ third-party applications, from those PDF tools to niche utilities, and everything in between. Updates happen silently in the background. No pop-ups. No admin overhead. Just peace of mind.
